The Olympics is the international sports meet to watch. Besides witnessing world records being broken by the cream of the crop when it comes to athletics and all kinds of sports, there are also many charming Olympians who are winning hearts all over the world. Here’s a non-exhaustive list of 21 good-looking athletes that are upping the watchable factor of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
1. Alica Schmidt, Germany

Alica Schmidt is a German olympian runner who is also regarded as the World’s Sexiest Athlete – even though she often declines that title. The 22-year-old currently has a whopping 1.8 million Instagram followers, and competed in the 4 x 400m Relay Mixed Finals, where her team was disqualified for making contact with the Jamaican team.
2. Samuel Anthony Mikulak, the US

Six-time US national champion and eight-time NCAA champion in Artistic Gymnastics, Samuel Mikulak is a third-time Olympian representing America. This may yet be the young athlete’s last Olympics as retirement and marriage draws near.
3. Lee Dae-hoon, South Korea

Lee Dae-hoon is a third-time Olympian competing in Taekwondo. He is also a two-time Olympic medalist, having gotten a bronze medal in Rio 2016 and a silver medal in London 2012. He lost the bronze medal this time round to China’s Zhao Shuai at the event.
4. Georgia Lorraine Ellenwood, Canada

First-time olympian Georgia Ellenwood is a Canadian runner who is competing in the Women’s Heptathlon at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
She has gotten 1st place for both Canadian Track and Field Championships, and NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships in 2018.
5. Noah Lyles, the US

The current 200m world champion, Noah Lyles is an American runner who is exceptionally adept at sprints. Sometimes dubbed as the next Usain Bolt, this first-time olympian runner has made it through to the semi-finals of the Men’s 200m event.
6. Vivian Kong Man Wai, Hong Kong

A second-time olympian, Vivian Kong is a left-handed épée fencer representing Hong Kong at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in both the Individual and Team events. She is also the first Hong Kongese to win the FIE Fencing World Cup in 2019.
7. Szőcs Bernadette Cynthia, Romania

The Tokyo 2020 Olympics will be Szőcs Bernadette Cynthia’s second Olympic games representing Romania in Table Tennis. She played in three events – Mixed Doubles, Women’s Single and Women’s Team – but didn’t manage to snag a medal.
She has an older brother who is also a professional table tennis player who has played at the world championships.
8. Pita Nikolas Taufatofua, Tonga

Perhaps one of the more eye-catching athletes in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Opening Ceremony, where he appeared topless and oiled, Pita Taufatofua is representing Tonga in Taekwondo. He also has a professional skiing career.
9. Eddie Wang Kuan-hung, Taiwan

Eddie Wang is a first-time Olympian representing Taiwan in swimming. In 2020, he set a new record in the 200m Butterfly event for the short course World Record Junior. The 19-year-old made it into the semi-finals of the 200m Butterfly, but finished 6th in his race.
10. Arthur Nory Oyakawa Mariano, Brazil

Arthur Nory is a Japanese-Brazillian gymnast who is representing Brazil in Artistic Gymnastics. He is a second-time Olympian, and he won a bronze medal in Rio 2016 in floor exercise.
11. Geraldina “Dina” Asher-Smith, the UK

Dina Asher-Smith is a second-time Olympian British runner who specialises in sprinting. She is considered as the fastest British women, as she’s won a gold in 200m, and two silvers in 100m and 4x100m Relay respectively, during the World Championships in 2019.
Sha made it into the semi-finals of the Women’s 100m event and finished third in that race. She’ll also be competing in the Women’s 4 x 100m Relay.
12. Zehra Güneş, Turkey

A member of the Turkish women’s national team, Zehra Güneş is representing Turkey in Volleyball. She was awarded Best Middle Blocker at the 2019 FIVB Women’s Club World Championship.
13. Daria Bilodid, Ukraine

Daria Bilodid is a Ukrainian judoka who just won her first bronze medal in Judo at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympics. She also made history in the sport, by being the youngest world champion at the age of 17.
14. Wu Chia Ying, Taiwan

Representing Taiwan in shooting is second-time Olympian sports shooter Wu Chia Ying. She is also given the nickname ID Girl because of a photograph she used as an identification during a competition in Shenzhen in 2011.
15. Thomas Robert Daley, the UK

Fourth-time Olympian Thomas Daley is a British diver who won his first gold medal at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Prior to this, he was a bronze medalist in Rio 2016 and London 2012.
At the Games, Daley was caught on camera knitting in the stands during a diving event and he went viral for that.

Six-time X Games gold medalist Leticia Bufoni is a professional Brazillian skateboarder who has about 3.4 million followers across her social media accounts. She competed in the Women’s Street Skateboarding event at this Games.

Rebeca Andrade is a second-time Olympian representing Brazil in Artistic Gymnastics. She won the silver medal at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympics, and is the first Brazilian to get a medal in women’s gymnastics.

Takahashi Ran is a Japanese volleyball player who plays for the Japanese national volleyball team. He was named after the term “home run” by his father who loves baseball.
