Tokyo Revengers Season 2 Releases New Trailer, Advance Screening Session To Be Held In December

Tokyo Revengers Season 2

On 31st October, the Tokyo Revengers official Twitter account pleasantly surprised fans with a new trailer for Season 2 of the anime

The trailer release was shortly followed by an announcement confirming the anime series’ premiere in January 2023. The icing on top of this news is that lucky fans will get a chance to attend an advance screening session of the new season’s first 3 episodes in December at Yokohama City’s Pacifico Yokohama Conference Centre Main Hall – with the cast present.

Tokyo Revengers Season 2 trailer

Tokyo Revengers centres around Takemichi Hanagaki, an unemployed man who was once a middle school delinquent. In order to prevent a future where his ex-girlfriend, Hinata Tachibana, gets murdered by the Tokyo Manji Gang, Hanagaki constantly time leaps to the past to alter events that will lead to this outcome.

Picking up from the climatic scene in Season 1 where a gun is pointed to Hanagaki’s head, Tokyo Revengers Season 2 will be entering a fresh arc of the manga – the Black Dragon Arc AKA the Christmas Showdown Arc.

The new trailer provides glimpses into the appearance of the Black Dragons Gang, which is headed by Hakkai Shiba’s older brother, Taiju Shiba. Hakkai’s older sister, Yuzuru Shiba, also makes her anime debut alongside Taiju. However, both Hakkai and Yuzuru are shown to be oppressed by Taiju in the trailer, insinuating an unhealthy sibling relationship.

Perhaps finally pushed over the edge by his abusive brother, Hakkai is heard determinedly saying in the trailer, “I’m going to kill Taiju.”
