History of Farm Tomita

With a history hailing back from as far as 1952, Farm Tomita’s now-famed lavender cultivation is the work of Tadao Tomita, the grandson of the farm’s founder, Tokuma Tomita.

In the summer of 1958, Tadao planted the first lavender field in Farm Tomita with his beloved wife, Sachiko. Despite the ups and downs that have affected the lavender cultivation industry, Farm Tomita has persisted and thrived.

Farm Tomita specialises in lavender cultivation, with multiple rolling fields of lavender covering their land.

The farm not only produces heaps of the flower itself, but many products derived from lavender as well, including things like ice cream, pastries, desserts, soda, potpourri, essential oils, and perfume.

These products are proudly featured at the cafe on the farm, where visitors can enjoy delicious lavender-flavoured food and gorgeous scenery at the same time.

There is even a perfume house where visitors can customise their very own lavender-scented oils and perfume based on their personal preference, in addition to observing the whole perfume-making process. Guests can also make scented bookmarks with their favourite perfume.
