If you’re itching for a gory, action-packed film about the yakuza, you don’t have to wait any longer. Come 16th September 2022, the live action film adaptation of Hell Dogs will be hitting cinemas nationwide in Japan.

Starring Okada Junichi as Kanetaka Jyougo and Sakaguchi Kentarou as Murouka Hideki, Hell Dogs tells the story of an unlikely pair – the former an undercover cop who is forced to infiltrate a yakuza organisation, and the latter a member of said organisation.
Together with their impeccable teamwork and chemistry, the duo rise up the ranks rapidly and are known as the “mad dog combo”.

Serialised since April 2020, Hell Dogs is an action mystery manga authored by Fukamichi Akio. The manga is ongoing and currently has five of its 20 chapters translated.
At first glance, Kanetaka seems to be a ruthless, cold-blooded member of the underworld who is extremely capable at his job. However, as a member of the Metropolitan Police Department, Kanetaka has to forgo and question his sense of justice when he is forced to commit a murder.

Besides Okada Junichi and Sakaguchi Kentarou helming the show, other cast members were revealed on 4th April 2022. Assuming the role of their boss, Kitamura Kazuki will be joined by Matsuoka Mayu, who plays Kisa Emiri, his bewitching mistress who is also involved with Kanetaka.
Otake Shinobu, a veteran actress, will play Kinugasa Koriko, a masseur who serves as the connection between Kenatake and the police force.
The live action film adaptation of Hell Dogs will be available in Japan on 16th September 2022. Follow their official Twitter for the latest updates and cast information.
