The final season of Attack on Titan has just ended – or has it? With a portion of the original manga still left unadapted, it was announced that a third part will be released in 2023 to finish up the Titan-fighting franchise.
At the end of the Japanese TV broadcast of episode 87, it was announced that the anime adaptation of Attack on Titan will be continuing in 2023. A short teaser and key visual was released, featuring the Survey Corps and Marley Warriors standing solemnly inside a large footprint left by the Wall Titans.

The latest season of Attack on Titan is an anime retelling of the manga’s War For Paradis arc. Following Eren’s attack on Liberio, Marley launches a sneak attack on the island and war ensues.
Episode 87, titled The Dawn of Humanity, ends with the Attack Titan leading the Wall Titans on their path of destruction. For anime-only fans who are too eager to wait for the new season to drop, MAPPA’s adaptation covers up to Chapter 130, so the manga can be picked up from Chapter 131.
As to when we can see Eren and the gang in action again, MAPPA has yet to reveal the exact date of release. But with only around nine chapters to cover, we can expect the third part of the season to finally conclude the long-running anime series.
