Nissin Cup Noodle Soda Allows You To Achieve Maximum Efficiency By Combining Food & Drink Into A Bottle

Experimenting with different food combinations to come up with delicious new cuisines is a tradition that humans have partaken in throughout history. However, the result of some of these experiments, such as the Nissin cup noodle soda, makes us wonder if we are straying further from God each day.


Soda that tastes like instant noodles

As a part of their 50th anniversary celebrations, Nissin released a lineup of soft drinks that could be one of their most experimental ideas yet. The new lineup of soft drinks are called “Cup Noodle Soda” and does what it says on the tin – they’re soft drinks that taste like instant noodles.

There are four flavours: Cup Noodle Soda, Cup Noodle Seafood Soda, Cup Noodle Curry Soda, and Cup Noodle Chili Tomato Soda.

The Cup Noodle Soda is a ginger ale drink infused with the fragrance of shoyu and pepper. The Cup Noodle Seafood Soda has cream soda as its base, and it’s enhanced with a seafood flavour. The Cup Noodle Curry Soda is a cola drink with added curry spice. And lastly, the Cup Noodle Chili Tomato Soda is a slightly spicy yet refreshing tomato soda drink.

You can purchase these cup noodle soft drinks as a set, bundled with nine Nissin cup noodles for about ¥2,776 (~USD25.22) from Au Pay Market, or from Rakuten.

Delivery service only caters to addresses within Japan.

There were quite a few shocked reactions by Japanese Twitter users, following the announcement of this abomination of a soft drink.

Twitter user @ImaizumTakaYUKI commented, “It is here!” Their comment refers to the fact that Nissin finally released something unbelievably experimental, and their tweet was accompanied by a manga illustration of characters looking baffled and shocked.

@hiruandon4535 reacted to the experimental soft drink with just one word: “yamere”. It means “stop this”, and it’s a wonderfully succinct way of telling Nissin to stahp with these over-the-top food combinations.

However, there were some who seemingly applauded the creativity and even encouraged Nissin to make more of these. Twitter user @Hennessy_79 jokingly commented, “Yes, yes… do more of these.”


Give Nissin cup noodle soda a try


The taste of these drinks are probably a hit-or-miss, but you won’t know unless you give it a try. Challenge your preconceptions of what a drink is supposed to be, and give this experimental beverage a chance to add a little fizzle and sizzle to your world.
