Some classics are too good to be produced only once, and Akuma-kun is one such series. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Mizuki Shigeru’s birth – the creator of the original manga – a brand new anime adaptation will be streamed on Netflix this year.

The story centres on the titular Akuma-kun, a rare child prodigy who has the ability to interact with demons and the supernatural. He firmly believes that a utopia with happy human beings can only be achieved with the help of his demon friends.

Since the 1st adaptation aired from 1989 to 1990, it’s safe to say that the upcoming series will have zhuzhed up animation and a refreshing, updated art style.
