Spanning 12 episodes, Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales Of The Macabre features nightmare-inducing short stories from the mind of the titular legendary horror manga artist. Fans can expect anime adaptations of some of Ito’s most bizarre and terrifying tales, such as The Hanging Balloons and Tomie.

In Kengan Ashura, gladiators are hired by elites to settle business disputes. Employed as a gladiator, Ohma finds himself dragged into the Kengan Annihilation Tournament and ends up participating in a series of high-stakes battles.
Season 1 ended with the fight between Meguro and Muteba, hence the upcoming season should pick up from there as Ohma advances to the 3rd round.

Adapted from Baku Yumemakura’s series of historical short stories and novels of the same name, Onmyoji follows the story of Abe no Seimei, a sorcerer in the Heian period. Together with the carefree noble Minamoto no Hiromasa, they defend Heian-kyō – known as Kyoto today – from Douson, a fellow onmyoji who is scheming to overthrow the emperor.
While the franchise has received manga and film adaptations, the upcoming Netflix original series marks the 1st time it will be getting the anime treatment.

Our favourite rage panda is back – the final and 5th season of Aggretsuko is slated to hit Netflix on 16th February 2023.
Picking up from Haida’s resignation, the latest season follows the now-jobless hyena as he indulges in video games all day and retreats from society. He meets Shikabane, a mysterious new character, at an internet cafe, and this chance encounter will prove to be a life-changing one.
Meanwhile, Retsuko is taking a huge leap of faith as she runs for political office.

Anime lovers who get triggered by the mere mention of CGI will want to look away for a minute. Make My Day follows an original sci-fi story by Ōtagaki Yasuo, the manga artist who created Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt.
On a planet barren save for a copious amount of snow and ice, prisoners unwillingly spend their day mining. One day, a mysterious creature suddenly appears from the depths of darkness and attacks the residents. Will humanity survive?

Some classics are too good to be produced only once, and Akuma-kun is one such series. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Mizuki Shigeru’s birth – the creator of the original manga – a brand new anime adaptation will be streamed on Netflix this year.
The story centres on the titular Akuma-kun, a rare child prodigy who has the ability to interact with demons and the supernatural. He firmly believes that a utopia with happy human beings can only be achieved with the help of his demon friends.
Since the 1st adaptation aired from 1989 to 1990, it’s safe to say that the upcoming series will have zhuzhed up animation and a refreshing, updated art style.

A spin-off of the longest-running detective anime of all time, Detective Conan: The Culprit Hanzawa is a surprisingly light-hearted watch for anyone who needs a good laugh. Unlike other entries in the Detective Conan franchise, this latest title focuses on a criminal.
With plans to kill, the black-silhouetted Hanzawa arrives in Beika Town, an area known for its high crime rates. Watch the aspiring murderer navigate through his new life in Beika, while plotting his sinister plan in secret.
