It has been almost 9 months since the release of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Movie: Mugen Train. This September, Universal Studios Japan (USJ) is letting all fans re-experience the heart-stopping film with its Demon Slayer VR roller coaster ride.

USJ announced that a Demon Slayer roller coaster ride will be running from 17th September 2021 to 13th February 2022.
Officially called “Demon Slayer XR Ride”, the ride uses advanced virtual reality (VR) technology to immerse its passengers in the haunting Mugen Train trip. Through the attraction, you can re-live the exhilarating showdown between Tanjiro and Enmu, as well as between Rengoku and Akaza.

The ride is located at Space Fantasy – The Ride, a spinning roller coaster attraction found in USJ. Only those above 122cm talk are eligible to board the Mugen Train.

At Space Fantasy – The Ride, you can also purchase a special map at the mobile cart and embark on your own training journey throughout USJ. Details about what the training entails are vague at the moment, but they’re unlikely to be gruelling as the one Tanjiro went through.

A Demon Slayer collaboration will also be happening at the Hollywood Dream – The Ride, an existing outdoor roller coaster in USJ that allows its riders to choose a desired ride soundtrack from an available selection. There are 2 parts to this collaboration.
From 17th September 2021 to 7th November 2021, there will be a special soundtrack featuring conversations between Tanjiro and Rengoku. You’ll feel as if they’re taking the roller coaster with you as they marvel over the ride.
Details of the 2nd part of the feature, which will happen from 8th November 2021 to 13th February 2022, have yet to be released.
The Demon Slayer world is coming to USJ. This is a rare chance to forget about the angst from the movie and forge happier memories with our beloved characters. Do stay tuned to the official collaboration site for further updates.
